LAPG Meeting Minutes
May 8, 2004

1)Fundraiser:
a. Concerns were raised about what will draw people to the fund raiser if it is not planned as a party. For example, speakers on wastewater are likely to be appealing to a small audience and should be presented at a different type of venue.
b. The goal of the fund raiser is to raise money to bring in speakers, to subsidize permaculture education, and/or to support specific projects.
c. Possibilities for the Fundraiser include:
i. Coordination with Pagan Love Fest
1. Heather will investigate and coordinate
ii. Fundraiser at Freeman’s, etc.
1. Geoff will investigate and coordinate
iii. Wait until the fall and have a night time party, perhaps coordinated with the learning party, invisible college or others.
2) Communication
a. Camille is coordinating to set up an LAPG list serve. Yay Camille!
3) Meetings
a. The group acknowledged that Saturday evening meetings are difficult. The next meeting will be on a Sunday morning for brunch. Date TBD.
4) Upcoming events:
a. Work Parties
i. Chip English would like to request a work party
ii. If Yogi Scott is willing to host the fund raiser at the Pagan Love Fest, we will reciprocate with a work party at his place in Pasadena.
iii. Dates TBD
b. Seed Lady Pizza Party
i. May 22 at Watts Family Garden Club
ii. Camille, Joan and Tom will provide dough and sauce.
iii. Participants to bring toppings
iv. No alcohol please
c. Pacific Rim Peace Park
i. Planned by James Hubble in Tijuana in July
ii. Bill Roley and the LAPG will do the planting
iii. Should be a 4-6 day event
iv. Camille needs help with fundraising, plant donations, etc.
