Create a garden that speaks to your soul, a landscape which evokes California at its best and join the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains at the annual Native Plants Sale on Saturday, November 5, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The event will be held at the California Department of State Parks and Recreation parking lot in front of the Topanga Ranch Motel at Pacific Coast Highway, just west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

The day will start off with vermicomposting at 10:30 – with a pet worm farm giveaway. Special events will include a blessing ceremony by famous Chumash Leader, Mati Waiya at noon.

At 1pm, author/biologist Rosi Dagit will read and sign her book Grandmother Oak for the kids (signed copies of this book make for great holiday presents and babyshower gifts.) All day long, we will have special drop-in visits from Children’s Nature Institute docents, to entertain kids of all ages. Live music will add sparkle to the proceedings. There will be lemonade, cookies and pizza. There will be an all day question and answer booth with botanists/landscape designers and more –

Show how much you love California by planting a California Friendly garden – these plants are yearning for your yard.

Bring the wild home – plant natives!
